Today’s hard drives are different from their predecessors. Capacity is increasing day by day, but not all space is used.

There are visual tools such as DiskInventoryX that divide your used hard drive space into different compartments of different colors.

However, WhatSize does the same thing, but it’s digital. That is, it displays the space used by files, folders, and subfolders in bytes.

The program scans according to the hard disk drive of your choice and organizes the content into a descending list based on the amount of space it occupies. You can even run it in a single folder without having to scan your hard drive completely.
